This one-hour VHS course is a complete program specifically designed to show everything
you will need to know get in your first band as a rhythm guitarist.
SECTION 1
of the course starts off with a quick tune-up and then an introduction to open chords.
Next
you will be taken step-by-step through specially designed exercises, giving you the
complete set of open chords and showing you how to develop your strumming
technique - integrate bass notes into your playing; and apply the 'pick and fingers' technique.
SECTION 2
You will learn the three most important sets of moveable/barre chords. This will rocket you through years of self taught exploration normally undertaken by apprentice guitarists.
You will fully understand the root note system which thoroughly organises your chord playing/knowledge, thus making your understanding of these chords simple and logical. You will learn the best patterns to use and how to take advantage of knowing these different chord shape.
This will give you a professional level of versatility that is
almost impossible to teach yourself from books.
SECTION 3
This section is all about understanding Chords.
You will learn the formulas of every chord you will ever need to play in any band whatever level.
With this information you will be able to break chords down - invent chords -
map out arpeggios - analyse mystery chords (chords which other musicians show you but you
but don't know what they are). Also you will fully understand harmony (chord theory).
SECTION 4
This section is all about tricks of the trade.
You will learn the minor 7th hammer-on technique - power chords - shortened
chords - suspended 4ths - triad scale runs - and much more, giving you instant experience which
takes most guitarists years to discover.
SECTION 5
This section is about transcribing from records.
You will learn how the professionals take rhythm guitar parts from recordings, giving you the freedom to play anything you want on record.
This section of the course alone is worth the price of this video.
There is a logical system to transcribing chord parts from recordings but unfortunately, to
the novice it's as secretive as the magic circle! This section of the video reveals all.
SECTION 6
It's time to learn the truth! have you studied this thorough and professionally planned course properly?
I have set out four audition pieces for you to play.
It's simple - I play first then stop, but the band carries on playing for you to take the audition. If you fail the audition, go back and practice.
